Obrázek
Hello everyone, after some time I have decided to write another article. Today it's going to be about Canada, specifically about Niagara Falls. I believe, you had heard about this amazing place before, but let's find out more interesting facts! Niagara Falls is the collective name for 3 waterfalls on the river Niagara, that are the international border between the Canadian province Ontario and the American state of New York. From the smallest, the three waterfalls are Bridal Veil Falls , American Falls (these two are on the United States' side) and Horseshoe Falls (which lies on the border of the United States and Canada, but mostly in Canada). The Horseshoe Falls is the biggest and the height is 52 metres. ATTRACTIONS: MAID OF THE MIST = It's such a favourite activity for tourists. You can go with a small boat right under the waterfalls and enjoy this incredible experience. You can board the ship on the USA' side and on Canada's side too. Ticke

ENERGY DRINKS

Obrázek
Hi everyone, because health is the most important thing for me and I suppose so it's for you, I've decided to write this article about a danger of energy drinks. Every single day, when I go home from school, I see children or teenagers drinking these drinks. I wonder, if they know, what these drinks contain and what sort of risks these drinks have. So, what actually these drinks contain? So many ingredients, for example colourings and preservatives (=konzervační látky). The problem is, that they also contain not little amount of sugar and caffeine. Combination of sugar and caffeine increases energy, physical and psychical efficiency (=výkonnost). But after some time, the body is tired and needs another stimulation. Experts say that higher amount of caffeine can cause slow evolution of brain. Children need long and high sleep and higher amount of caffeine (300-400 mg daily = 4 energy drinks/4 cups of tea/bottle of coke)  reduces a sleeping time. Children shouldn

Hello everyone, today I am going to apprise you with  Great  Bell  of the  clock  at the north end of th e  Palace of Westminster  in  London called Big Ben. Probably a lot of you have been to London and a lot of you have seen Big Ben as well but I hope you will find out some new interesting facts about the amazing bell. HISTORY OF BIG BEN On  16th October 1834 , the Palace of Westminster was destroyed by a huge fire. Then, when the flames were extinguished, there wasn't much left (only Westminster Hall).  Charles Barry was chosen to re-build it, so he did with help of some designers. Of course, the Great Clock needed bells.  One bell for the hour, plus four bells to chime the quarter hours.  The Big Bell was supposed to be called "Victoria" (after the Queen) but Londoners nicknamed it "Big   Ben" and the name remained. Big ben was introduced 7/9 1859 I have been once in London and I must say, Big Ben is a beautiful construction and I real

TOP 5 RESTAURANTS IN L.A.

Obrázek
Recently I have read an article about the best restaurants in Los Angeles. It impressed me a lot because who doesn´t love food especially tasting different food from different countries? I have always wanted to visit the east coast of the United States (San Francisco, San Diego and also Los Angeles). I hope one day I will have this ability! But now back to the article.  The article was published 13/10/2017 on CNN and it says that Downtown Los Angeles was in few last years boring city with no attractions particularly for visitors. But recently it has changed a lot. Now, these times, Downtown L.A. uses many ways to sequestrate people and to keep tourists (e.g. Grand Park, Grand Central Market,..) While you enjoy these attractions you have to (of course) eat something. People have started to fancy restaurants and on this blog you can read about top five, for case when you stand in the middle of L.A. and you are hungry. 1. Broken Spanish : You can taste Mexican food there. 1

Queen Elizabeth II.

Today I am going to write about the Queen Elizabeth II. She was born in 1926 as the oldest daughter of the King George VI. and his wife Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon. When she was young she studied constitution history on Eton College. To meet other girls, the Girl's school was established and she learnt to swim, dance, ride a horse, cook and other needful things there. In times in World War II. she stayed with her sister (Margareth) in Scotland. There were plans to evacuate these two to Canada but it didn't happen. In 1945 she accompanied her parents on the tour through Commonwealth. She got married on 20th November 1947 with her distant relation prince Philip. A lot of people criticized their marriage because Philip had a different religion, he was without funds etc. In 1953 she became a queen of the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand after her dad's death. She is Head of the Commonwealth and queen of countries (12) that have become independent since her

Wonderful York

In April 2017 I was in England with my schoolmates. We visited a lot of places but one of my favourite was a beautiful city called York. I stayed there with my two friends in such an agreeable family. York is located on the north of England with population of about 140 000 inhabitans. But what I want to write about aren't facts but my experience. First day of our visit was little walk through the city. We looked into York Minster, what is the one of the most highest gotic cathedrals in the north Europe. For me is this cathedral something like a symbol of this wonderful city. Then we visited Chocolate factory and for me it was something what I really enjoyed, because who doesn't love chocolate? And extra when you can taste everything you want. I found out how chocolate is making and interesting facts about everything connected with that. The next, very beautiful tower you can see in this picture. It's Clifford's Tower, which was built between 1068
